Tennessee Volunteers
The Tennessee Volunteers and Lady Volunteers are the names given to the college sports teams at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. Joan Cronan is the current Womens's Athletic Director, and Mike Hamilton is the current Men's Athletic Director. Womens's teams are called the Lady Volunteers and Men's teams the Volunteers, with "Volunteers" frequently shortened to "Vols". Tennessee is rather unusual among major U.S. universities in having separated athletic departments for women's and men's sports; the only other remaining NCAA Division I school with completely separated men's and women's programs is The University of Texas at Austin. In fact, the men's and women's athletic departments have completely different websites, with men's sports at utsports.com and women's sports at utladyvols.com.
