Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Bucs) are a professional football team franchise based in Tampa, Florida. The Bucs are currently members of the Southern Division of the National Football Conference (NFC), part of the National Football League (NFL). The Buccaneers, along with the Seattle Seahawks, joined the NFL in 1976 as expansion teams. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers played their first season in the AFC West as part of the 1976 NFL expansion plan. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL franchise is currently owned by Malcolm Glazer and coached by head coach Raheem Morris. When the Bucs franchise entered the league in 1976, the Buccaneers lost all of their first 26 games. After a short lived winning era in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Buccaneers suffered through fourteen consecutive losing NFL seasons. For a ten year period the Buccaneers were consistent playoff contenders, and even won Super Bowl XXXVII in 2002. |
